Justice of Appeal Albert N.J. Matthew was a Dominican citizen . He was also a graduate of the University of London where he pursued his Bachelor’s Degree in law and a recipient of the Commonwealth Scholarship which took him to London School of Economics where he pursued his Masters Degree, Albert Matthew now deceased, was at the time of his death, a retired Appeal Judge of the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal. On the Benches of the Eastern Caribbean is part biographical and part discourse of some 600 of the most intriguing and riveting cases that he would have adjudicated upon during his career both as a High Court Judge and a Court of Appeal Judge.
