Dr.Banks holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, 1986 and a Masters Degree 1983, from the Pennsylvania State University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education from Mounte Hloyoke College, Massachusettes, USA. She currently works as a Clinical Psychologist, in her practice the Sunshine Lady Professional Services on Anguilla as well as an Associate Professor of Psychology, at the St James Medical School in Anguilla. She is a Human Resource Development Consultant, an Educator, a radio and television Communications Specialist, a Motivational Speaker, a Certified Court Mediator, an assessor in the Juvenile Magistrate’s Court, an Employee Assistance Counsellor, an Anglican Lay Reader and Chalice Bearer, a poet, a composer, and an Afrocentric Entrepreneur. Dr. Banks is the Founder of the UNESCO endorsed Teacher Gloria Omololu Institute. The collection of poems Starfish: A Journey in Healing is her first published poetry compilation.
